Ripe bananas

The bananas above the toaster were ripe – maybe overripe?
Decided not to freeze them, as we have a full bag of frozen bananas.
A two part solution:
1. put the banana peels in a large bowl of water for fertilizing plants
2. mash the bananas to make Blueberry Banana Walnut Oatmeal Muffins

Keeping produce fresh is a task – requiring thought and effort.
Hate to waste the produce, especially when the care is taken to procure as fresh and clean produce as possible.
Bananas are a staple in our home – especially atop the homemade granola & yogurt breakfast.

There is a great satisfaction from making use of the ripe bananas. Especially when I hear satisfied sounds from MAO who enjoys having them. I am not big on sweets and will generally only have a bite or two to taste the result.

Grateful today for
having all the necessary ingredients for muffin making,
using up the bananas & the last of the frozen wild blueberries,
and for all that I have learned over recent years about food.
