Hello! world of saBEE is my personal photo and gratitude journal, drawing from photos I’ve taken over the years, and more recently images created with AI.

Along the way, you’ll meet a few recurring characters – MAO, my partner in all things; Exuberance, a dear friend; my niece Juha; and maoVee, the hayfield property keeping us grounded.

It began with a Flickr project called Project 365, where I took and posted one photo each day to the Flickr group. Over time, I added a gratitude component, and this blog was born.

It’s now been over 15 years, though some years have been more active than others. Social media took centre stage for a while, and I got a little lost in Meta land. Now, I am returning to the blog as a place to to share my photographs, thoughts, and gratitude.

If you’d like a little inspiration before diving in, here are two short talks that shaped how I think about gratitude – a timelapse film narrated by Brother David Steindl-Rast with cinematography by Louie Schwartzberg and Steindl-Rast’s own TED talk on the practice of gratitude.

Thank you for stopping in.

Dear Sabina – if you are the S. Song that attended Peoples School, please drop me an email. Dorcas Ho, Carol-Ann Morris and I are organising a reunion of the Class of ’87 (and many of those who floated in and out of that year). If you are not our Sabina, no worries. Yours, Dempsey
