Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated. – Arnold Palmer
Our last round of the Naples season.
It was a super hot and humid day. When we left our place at 8 a.m., it was already 86 F. I was glad we got out in the morning; we would not have survived an afternoon round.
I was also grateful that we had played nine holes last Sunday. It helped remind me how to golf. A few weeks away in New Orleans did not do much for my game.
What a season it’s been in Naples.
We started out playing reciprocal clubs while our home course was still being renewed. It was exciting to have a new course to play on, even if the new brand took some time to embrace.
I enjoyed the rounds I had with my mate. I gained knowledge and improved my distances with the ladies’ workshops that were offered by the club.
Mostly, I am grateful for all the rounds of golf we had, for getting my high handicap down by two, and for shooting my best score on nine holes today.
