Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home. – Matsuo Bashō
We closed up Camelot over the weekend.
The plants were moved indoors to the side window, and the fridge and freezer were cleared out. Bags were packed for our migration north — first to Chicago, then to our annual spring getaway in Galena, as we make our way back to Ontario for the summer.
It was an easy flight today, with perfect timing: my Libby copy of Buckeye became available just as we were leaving. I had not wanted to carry the book on our travels, so having it arrive on my Kindle felt like a small gift.
It is exciting to be back in Chicago — such a vibrant, lively city. We celebrated our arrival with a wonderful Chinese lobster dinner. After a season away, it felt especially good to have access to great Chinese food again.
Today, I am grateful to have our home watch person set up in Naples, for the airport pickup and hotel drop-off by our pal Rick, and for a quiet moment to sit in the window and read.
