Unpacking continues. So does the shopping. Between Winners and Canadian Tire, I’ve been able to find just about everything the house needs. I do wish Winners were Canadian – and these days, where we spend our money matters to me. Very glad to have Canadian Tire as an option to Walmart.
Stratford keeps revealing itself as a lovely community. People make eye contact and say hello as you pass. Strangers have helped me reach things too high on a shelf, held doors open as I farmer-carry armloads out to the car. Every small gesture is genuinely appreciated.
So. Many. Boxes.
One day we will be settled. The move has been so much more demanding that I every anticipated – each day we inch a little closer. At this rate, I suspect that when we finally feel at home, it will be October and time to return to Naples.
Grateful for finding everything we need, for the kindness of strangers in the stores, and for the steady progress – however slow it feels.
