It’s a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things that you lack. Germany Kent
Summer 2024 started out with 2 AirBnb reservations. When we realized that the first reservation was not going to be right for us for 2 months, we needed a quick pivot. Thankfully, we had an RV – still on the lot – and had discussed setting it up at Idlewild a year or two ago. We moved into maoVee from the country inn on the second night in the field. The second reservation was quickly cancelled. Thankfully without the same kind of difficulty and challenging communications as the first reservation.
During our time in the hayfield, we had frequent camp fires, visits with family and celebrated our birthdays. Each day was a discovery of hayfield delights. From the birds visiting the feeder, to the crickets and the flowers growing, and the corn field beside the fire spot, I loved watching the days go by. The scenes outside our window always beautiful, no matter what the weather.
Now at the end of summer, I am full with the joy of being in nature, and witnessing the changing season. Grateful for the summer that we spent in the hayfield and the surrounding area. And so very grateful for the country mice for going on this experiment with us and for my mate – my number one partner in advenchas.
