Kyoto

Today we left Tokyo for Kyoto via Shinkansen – a high speed train that travels at 522km.
As we got closer to Kyoto, I had some worry about the hotel we were booked in.
While I had done much research, you just can’t know until you arrive.

Delighted to arrive to the beautiful Hotel Kanra Kyoto.
Our room is beautifully designed, peaceful and lovely.
Shower / bathroom is delightful with the aromatic Japanese Cypress wooden tub…
Toilet with slick controls in a completely separate room.

Electric bicycles, reserved for our stay were perfect for a cycle around the city.
Beautiful riverside with people walking, jogging, cycling and playing games in the park areas.
A rest in the hotel before we go out for dinner with a nutrition instructor’s friend.
Tonight’s birthday celebration – experiencing kaiseki tonight at Giro Giro in Gion.

Grateful today for
the new ways to get around experienced today – shinkansen and electric bicycle,
Chinatsu – thank you for reserving our bicycles and making dinner reservations for us,
and for a delightful room to call home for the next 3 nights.
