JeonJu LOVE!

Last night we stayed in a traditional Korean village…
Seonunjae Hanok Guesthouse.
For me, so much of Jeonju feels like Seoul 20 years ago…
Sleeping on the floor brings memories of my grandfather’s home (now a giant condo).
For my mate – he is a brave and open spirit.

Walked around the beautiful Hanok Village during the day…
Beautiful architecture blended in with the natural beauty of mountains and pine trees…

For dinner, Bri and I made a pasta dinner for 9 at Matthew’s JeonJu home.
Two different pastas with salad and of course being in Korea we had pickles too. 😉
Loved meeting a JeonJu Bimbimbap Princess – 85 years old – an entrepreneur who made it famous in Seoul…
While she found it quite odd that guests were cooking, we were delighted that she tried it all.

Grateful today for
the preservation of traditional Korean in JeonJu,
a home cooked meal for Matthew’s family and friends,
and for Ji Kwon! Thank you for taking this photo of me and Ha Young! xxoo

The day starts with steel cut oatmeal with organic raisins… and cooking garbanzos. Tried a new recipe today for a roasted garbanzo snack. Didn’t turn as crunchy as they likely could be, still a tasty and nutritious snack and easy to make. Lunch with a classmate at Live. Much to…
