MAO and I have birthdays exactly two weeks apart – mine at the end of August, his at the beginning of September. This year, mine was celebrated the day before with a show and a lovely dinner at the restaurant at The Bruce Hotel.
MAO’s birthday was a lobster boil at Ros & Brad’s in Aurora – a great evening of lobster, laughs and an outdoor fire to close out the night. MAO has not had any alcohol since February and continues to remain sober, which meant it was a proper drinking party for me. I may have had a big too much. Just a bit.
Then came the late gifts – and they were something else entirely.
Codrin sent AI remixes of some photos he had taken and Maylee sent a song she made with AI using lyrics drawn from our email conversation. Both stopped us in our tracks. The creativity, the thoughtfulness, the sheer wow of it. What a treat to receive!
